Safety & Security Solutions & Consulting

Safety Security Window Films will transform your properties weakest link, “GLASS”, into a strength.

No matter what type of building you’re in – a home or office, corner store or corporate skyscraper your glass and windows pose the biggest threat to your safety. Anything from a stray golf ball to burglary, a violent storm or even a bomb blast can send dangerous shards of glass flying, subjecting people and property to serious injury or worse.

That’s why so many home and business owners rely on the protection provided by durable safety window films. Most security window films provide a thick, optically clear barrier film that bonds to the inside of windows, reinforcing glass and helping to hold it safely in place upon impact. The security window films A&C Glass Tinting installs for our clients are made from only the highest quality materials, such as tough, high tensile polyester and ultra-strong mounting adhesives – available in thicknesses ranging from 4 to 15 Mil, with thicker films offering greater protection.

Our security window films have met impact requirements for some of most stringent test’s in the industry and has been field tested for over 20 years. We only install the best security films… some have been chosen by the Federal Government to protect the Capitol building, The Pentagon, and many other government buildings worldwide.

Break In Protection

Criminal glass breakage incidents can occur at any time and usually happen when you least expect it. Unfortunately, traditional security measures like alarms and cameras don’t actually prevent intruders from breaking in. To burglar, a broken window is the easiest access to your building. Your merchandise, electronics equipment, office furniture and other valuable materials can all be damaged or gone in a matter of minutes after a criminal gains entry. Luckily, AC Window Film eliminates a burglar’s easiest access route – a broken window. By holding broken glass firmly within the window frame after breaking, illegal access is much more difficult and less likely to occur. Regardless where you are or what you are doing, AC Security Film acts as your constant, invisible security guard, offering you complete protection around the clock.

Severe Weather

Windows are your home’s most vulnerable area, once broken during a hurricane, high winds or violent storm you can experience severe property damage. Since A&C Glass Tintings safety and security window film helps hold broken glass in place upon storm debris impact, even enduring the heavy wind and rain that can last for hours, the product has become a consumer’s choice for hurricane window protection.

A&C Glass Tinting’s safety/security films are an optically clear, polyester glass coating, not obtrusive like plywood and other window coverings that block your view. You don’t have to be home to tape or board your windows in preparation for rough weather or other acts of nature.

A&C Glass Tinting safety film offers:

  • Protects people and furnishings from the dangerous airborne shards in a storm
  • Offers Passive 24/7 window safety and protection
  • Stays on the glass year after year
  • Maintains a clear view
  • Available in clear and tinted versions.
  • Meets some of the most stringent building codes in the industry, such as Miami-Dade Protocol & Southern Building Code Congress International.

For optimum shattered glass retention and hurricane window protection, ask us about frame anchoring options.

In addition, be proactive this storm season and allow yourself time for installation and product curing (which can take 30-90 days).

Explosion & Blasts

With the ever-present threat of terrorism, facility and government safety has never been a higher priority. High-risk areas now include just about every major city of the world. Even buildings in the outlying areas are susceptible to major damage if an explosion should occur. The shock wave exerts enormous amounts of pressure, breaking unprotected glass and sending harmful shards into your environment at high velocities.

A&C Glass Tinting chosen security film’s offer strong, resilient adhesive and flexible construction enable it to withstand severe levels of positive and negative pressure – allowing the film to move with the window should a blast occur, retaining dangerous fragments and acting as a protective barrier between you and disaster.

A&C Glass Tinting’s GSA approved security film has been installed on some of the most safety-intensive buildings in the world, from the Pentagon and FBI offices to many U.S. and foreign embassies.

Data Theft

Information theft is a modern-day threat to government security and high profile businesses. Everyday electronic equipment, such as wireless networks, PDAs, laptops, cellular phones and computer monitors, release electromagnetic fields that are intercepted and decoded by hi-tech criminals. Particular AC window films act as a barrier, with their flexible, transparent metal layer blocking the transmission of classified information through electromagnetic interference (EMI).

Protect your corporate privacy and block advanced eavesdroppers with A&C Glass Tinting’s Signal Shield film, the preferred protection against electronic intrusion.

If you are concerned that window film could interfere with the flow of electronic information in environments where you prefer clear transmission, A&C Glass Tinting offers a commercial security window solution with nano ceramic window films that are metal free and will not interfere with your electronic devices.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does security window film protect against break-ins?

Security window film holds broken glass together within the window frame, making it much harder for an intruder to gain entry. Even after the glass is struck or shattered, the film keeps the window intact as a barrier. Unlike alarms or cameras that only alert you after a break-in, security film physically slows down or prevents access. It acts as a 24/7 invisible security layer for homes and businesses throughout DC, Northern Virginia, and Maryland.

What thickness of security film do I need?

Security films range from 4 mil to 15 mil in thickness. Thicker films provide greater protection against impacts, blasts, and forced entry. For residential burglary protection, 8 mil film is a popular choice. For government buildings and high-security applications, we typically recommend 12 to 15 mil film. During a consultation, we assess your specific security needs and recommend the right product for your situation.

Can security film protect windows during hurricanes and severe storms?

Yes. Security window film helps hold glass in place when debris strikes during high winds, hurricanes, and violent storms. This prevents dangerous glass shards from flying into your home or building. Our films meet some of the most stringent building codes in the industry, including Miami-Dade Protocol standards. For maximum storm protection, we also offer frame anchoring systems that keep the entire window assembly intact.

Is security film visible on the glass?

Most security films are optically clear, so you would not notice them on the glass. They do not change the appearance of your windows or obstruct your view. We also carry tinted security films if you want added benefits like heat and glare reduction along with your security protection. Either way, the film is unobtrusive and does not affect the look of your building.

Does A&C Glass Tinting install blast-resistant window film?

Yes, blast mitigation is one of our specialties. We install GSA-approved blast-resistant window films that have been tested to withstand severe levels of positive and negative pressure from explosions. Our films have been installed on high-profile government buildings in Washington DC, including the Pentagon and federal office buildings. We also install fragment retention anchoring systems for the highest level of blast protection.

How long does it take for security film to fully cure?

Security window film typically takes 30 to 90 days to fully cure and reach its maximum adhesive bond to the glass. During this period, the film may appear slightly hazy, but this clears as the moisture evaporates. We recommend planning your installation well ahead of storm season or any anticipated security needs to allow proper curing time.
